1. Be accurate
Do not create fake identities, misleading profiles, false venues, fabricated Bookings or deceptive listings.
Performers must describe their services, pricing, availability, travel area, insurance status and media honestly. Hirers must provide genuine event and venue information.
Do not claim GigWest has verified or endorsed you unless GigWest expressly says it has.
2. Use one genuine account structure
Do not create duplicate accounts, profiles or organisations to avoid restrictions, manipulate reviews or reset a first/repeat GigWest Booking Fee relationship.
If you genuinely need an additional role or profile structure, use the available account tools or contact support.
3. Respect the protected booking process
Before a Booking is confirmed, do not deliberately post or disguise phone numbers, email addresses, websites, social handles, messaging usernames or other contact information to bypass the protected GigWest enquiry and booking workflow.
Do not pressure another user to bypass the Platform's pre-confirmation protections.
Once a Booking is confirmed and contact information is legitimately unlocked, direct communication about the event and Performer Fee is expected.
4. Treat people respectfully
Do not use GigWest to harass, threaten, stalk, intimidate or abuse another person.
Do not publish unlawful discriminatory content or target another person with degrading or threatening conduct based on protected personal characteristics.
Disagreement about a quote, cancellation or performance does not justify abuse.
5. Keep events and performances safe
Hirers should provide a reasonably safe, lawful and suitable environment for the agreed performance.
Performers should attend and perform in a manner consistent with the accepted Booking and should not be impaired in a way that creates a material safety risk or prevents them from supplying the agreed service.
Users must comply with reasonable venue safety, access and legal requirements that apply to them. If there is an immediate safety threat, contact emergency services rather than relying on GigWest support.
6. No fraud or manipulation
Do not:
- use stolen or unauthorised payment methods;
- falsify insurance or compliance documents;
- manipulate booking history or relationship status;
- create fake reviews or arrange reciprocal fake reviews;
- misrepresent cancellations or no-shows;
- misuse Booking Protection credits; or
- attempt to exploit Platform errors for financial or marketplace advantage.
7. Reviews must be genuine
Reviews must come from eligible completed GigWest Bookings and reflect the reviewer's genuine experience.
Do not include knowingly false allegations, threats, private contact details, irrelevant personal attacks or material unrelated to the Booking.
Performers may respond to reviews where the feature is available, subject to the same standards.
8. Protect privacy
Do not publicly disclose another person's private phone number, email address, home address, banking information, private documents, Venue Gig Sheet credentials or other sensitive information without a lawful reason and appropriate permission.
Do not repost private Platform messages or documents for harassment, intimidation or unrelated public shaming.
9. Respect intellectual property
Only upload photos, logos, text, media and documents that you own or have permission to use.
Do not upload pirated music, unauthorised copyrighted recordings, lyrics, sheet music or other protected material where you do not have the necessary rights.
10. No malicious or disruptive use
Do not upload malware, probe Platform security, scrape data in breach of the Terms, send spam, automate abusive traffic or try to access accounts, documents or administrative systems without permission.
11. Keep opportunities and callouts genuine
Gig SOS, Open Dates, venue opportunities and Muso Callouts must be used for genuine live-entertainment purposes.
Do not post fake urgent opportunities, repeatedly spam the same opportunity, bait users with misleading budgets or use callouts to solicit unrelated products or services.
12. Cancellations and reliability
Plans can change, but users should communicate promptly and use the Platform's cancellation or rescheduling tools when a Booking cannot proceed.
Repeated avoidable cancellations, unexplained no-shows, deliberate misuse of availability or persistent failure to honour confirmed Bookings may be considered when GigWest assesses marketplace safety and account access.
13. Reporting concerns
Users can report relevant profiles, reviews, messages, listings or conduct through the available support or reporting tools.
Reports should be made in good faith. Deliberately false or malicious reports may themselves breach these standards.
14. How GigWest may respond
Depending on seriousness and context, GigWest may:
- provide guidance or a warning;
- block or remove content;
- restrict messaging or listing functions;
- request information or correction;
- hide or suspend a profile;
- temporarily restrict an account;
- close an account for serious or repeated breaches; or
- preserve and disclose information where required or authorised by law.
GigWest will aim to act proportionately and may consider history, severity, safety, fraud risk and available evidence. Serious safety, fraud or security concerns may require immediate action.
15. Asking for review
If you believe a moderation or account decision was made incorrectly, contact gigwestsupport@gmail.com and provide the relevant account, listing, message or Booking reference.
