What happens if a hirer cancels?
The booking record captures the cancellation and reason. The GigWest Booking Fee is generally non-refundable if the hirer cancels or changes their mind after confirmation, except where a refund or other remedy is required by applicable law.
What happens if the performer cancels or the event cannot proceed?
GigWest does not automatically refuse a refund. Performer cancellation, inability to supply the service, duplicate or incorrect payment and other legally relevant circumstances can be reviewed for an appropriate remedy.
Does GigWest handle the remaining performance balance?
No. GigWest can only refund the GigWest Booking Fee, or an applicable portion of it, because that is the only booking money GigWest processes. Performer Fee issues are handled directly between the parties, with platform records and reasonable support available.
Australian Consumer Law and other rights that cannot legally be excluded remain unaffected. Read the public Booking, Cancellation & Refund Policy for the current rules.
