Booking fees

Venue and private-hirer accounts are free at launch. GigWest does not advertise or require a paid venue subscription.

Basic performer profiles are free at launch.

Yes. GigWest adds a booking fee on top of the performer quote: 10% for the first confirmed booking between the same underlying legal performer and hirer entity, or 7.5% for a repeat booking.

The performer sets the full amount they want to receive. That full quote is paid directly to the performer under the quote terms. GigWest does not collect, hold or distribute it.

Only the GigWest booking fee is due through Stripe. For a $600 performer quote, a first booking has a $60 fee and $660 total cost; a repeat has a $45 fee and $645 total cost.

Later bookings between the same underlying legal performer or business and hirer entity use 7.5%. Changing venue staff does not reset an organisation relationship. Duplicate accounts or profiles must not be used to reset it.

Posting an urgent opportunity has no listing fee. The ordinary first or repeat relationship rate still applies.

Normal Stripe booking-fee processing costs are absorbed by GigWest and are not added again or deducted from the performer quote.

Booking fees are generally non-refundable if the hirer cancels or changes their mind after confirmation, except where a refund or other remedy is required by applicable law. Performer cancellation, inability to supply the booked service, duplicate or incorrect processing, and other legally relevant circumstances are assessed rather than automatically refused.
