GST and invoicing

GigWest’s current GST status and performer-specific GST treatment.

Important booking guidance
Is GigWest GST registered?

GigWest is not currently registered for GST. This describes the current launch configuration and may change. GigWest platform charges are treated consistently with that current status.

Does having an ABN mean a performer is registered for GST?

No. An ABN alone does not establish GST registration.

How does performer GST work?

Each performer selects their own status. A non-registered performer’s quote shows “No GST charged by performer”. A registered performer enters one GST-inclusive Total Fee; GigWest records and displays the GST component within that total.

Who issues the performance invoice?

The performer is responsible for appropriate performance invoices and their own tax obligations. GigWest supplies its platform and booking-fee records.

How are travel, equipment and other arrangements handled?

Discuss travel, accommodation, PA, lighting, equipment, extra musicians and other arrangements in the protected booking conversation. The performer then sends one agreed Total Fee rather than a separate itemised-cost form.

GigWest does not decide whether a performer should register for GST and does not provide individual tax advice.
